    Run Sedona Events Half Marathon/10K/5K and Run The Runway

    Sedona News – The 20th Anniversary RunSedona Half Marathon/10K/5K running event will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, just behind the Verde Valley Medical Center, on Navoti Drive in Sedona. The races will take place 8:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. Additionally, the inaugural Run The Runway event will take place beginning at 1:30pm at the Sedona Airport, located at 235 Air Terminal Drive in Sedona.

    The RunSedona Events Half Marathon/10K/5K race route starts on Navoti Drive just behind the Verde Valley Medical Center in Sedona, travels on Dry Creek Road to Boynton Canyon Road and Boynton Pass Road and then returns the same route back to the Verde Valley Medical Center. Impacted hours are anticipated to be 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; please be aware that runners may be in the roadway until 1:00 p.m. and proceed with caution. In cooperation with city, county and state law enforcement agencies, enhanced security will be in place.

    Due to heavy runner volume – closure will be required for participant safety. Dry Creek Road will be closed to all vehicles on race day from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Please review the event website – www.runsedona.com – for more information. Residents and businesses located near the race route are urged to be aware of road closure schedules and to plan ahead for alternate access routes. Residents may experience minor delays in their neighborhood along the route. Complete maps of event-related road closures and trailhead impacts can be found here on the event website.

    Sedona Gift Shop

    Drivers are encouraged to adjust travel time within and around the RunSedona Events race route on Dry Creek Road and plan for an alternate route or added travel time. Hikers planning to hike that morning are encouraged to be aware of the impacts to trailheads and plan ahead to get the most out of your weekend and minimize stress. The trails that will be impacted are:

    • Summit Route
    • Two Fence Trail
    • Lizard Head Trail
    • Girdner Trail
    • Chuckwagon Trail
    • Arizona Cypress Trail
    • Canyon of Fools Trail
    • Fay Canyon Trail
    • Cockscomb Trail
    • Aerie Trail
    • Bear Mountain Trail

    RunSedona Events are an important event to our community, benefitting local charities and non-profits and bringing in 4,000 runners to the area. All race distances are completely sold out and RunSedona organizers are thrilled with the popularity of this year’s race.     The new Run the Runway event is hosted by RunSedona Events in partnership with the Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau and the Sedona Airport. This family-friendly event invites runners, walkers, kids and even leashed-pets to run or walk this beautiful 1-mile run on the Sedona Airport runway.
