Admission is $10 at the door. Director/pianist Lynne Haeseler weaves chants, improvisations, movement, poetry, audience participation and the solo piano music of Chopin and Rachmaninoff into a wholistic performance. The concert features Jere Friedman on gongs, flutist Carolyn Estrada and local performance artists Sally Gebler and Pash Galbavy.
Haeseler explains “In the late 19th century, the mystic composer Scriabin envisioned a performance of his music with the backdrop of the sunset and Himalaya mountains. He called it “Mysterium,” defining this integration of all the elements as a ‘universal work’ This concert is my effort to re-create his concept by integrating all elements into an unifying experience.
