When headlines proclaim that CO2, Carbon Dioxide gas, in the atmosphere must be controlled and subdued to reduce the dangerous warming going on in the Earth that gets attention.

You’ll need to simmer down your hysteria about increasing temperatures on the planet after reading the 5/14 USA article stating that CO2 levels reached a higher level in the atmosphere than it has for several hundred thousand years. To calm down you must remember the first fact which is that the globe is warming up, just like it always has so many times in history. Warmth brings moisture into the air and both then foster large crops of plant and tree growth. This flora eventually dies off and decomposes. From this process an abundance of coal, oil and natural gas results which eventually becomes the deposits that we find in the ground to fuel factories, cars, etc… The cycle of off and on heating with intermittent cooling periods also results in the Ice Ages which occur without fail. Also true for production of coal, oil and natural gas.

The last Ice Age was around not too long ago and now, guess what, we are warming up again.

The paper reminded us of the second fact that this CO2 gas traps heat as does insulation in our homes so temperatures tend to consequently increase like they will in your home without heat/cool control . The USA article also misleads by intimating that CO2 causes the heat which is false and more Al Gore garbage. Because science tells us CO2 doesn’t burn like wood, oil, etc. it cannot introduce heat into the earth’s atmosphere. The red in the sun’s spectrum does this to us..

Any scientific based critical analysis of the graph on page 2 of the paper reveals that the new CO2 ” high ” is hardly measurably above past highs in terms of reality and also in relative terms in the millions of years in earth history for CO2 levels. That’s akin to, ” building a mountain out of a mole hill . The ” high ” is just not technically significant.

Any remedy like that produced in the Paris Accord will mitigate the effect from trapping heat by CO2 and similar gases. To assume this is more important than the sun energy contribution is not only unsubstantiated but it is more Al Gore type hysterical stupidity. Nobody knows the comparison. Also, on trapped heat, it is not in America where huge quantities of CO2 are produced. instead It is in places such as China where this happens. This means we, in America, do not know how to equate any remedial results with the costs for any of our proposed CO2 controls.. So those who proclaim expertise in this issue are really blowing smoke into our eyes. Their frantic legislative reactions are merely wishful thinking because no facts exist to support their programs.

If you even happen know how to control the sun heat and the long established heating cycling then I’m sure you will be the top most candidate for a Nobel prize if not then our warmest regards. Since you don’t then, as of now, you can just cool it for awhile.

Although I don’t expect a Nobel prize, it seems that individuals CAN contribute to the solution of this problem, if problem it be. I did some “research” on this a few years ago using actual science, and the somewhat surprising results are here:

And the point about China is well taken. Seems (again, as of some years ago), that coal mine fires in China are a real CO2 generator:

John, they never quit.. several hundred thousand years in earth’s history is nothing.

It’s not global warming, it’s global greening. Love it.

Just wierd. 170 million years ago CO2 was 2700 ppm, today it’s about 400. Don’t find history showing humans around then.

Also strange that CO2 fell in pretty much a stright line to today’s low levels. Also curious that at the peak of 2700 was the greenest the earth was, which we are benefitting from fossil fuels today that were grown back then. And strangly enough global temps remained flat at around 25c during the time CO2 was falling, and is now about 12c . Huh.

We also know from historical crop production through the ages of mankind before temperatures were even recorded that the warmer times produced better crops, less famine and less human suffering.

But let’s not let a good scare tactic be ruined by historical data. So far the garbage that goes into these climate models has been historically a bust.

We should be worrying more about a clean planet, and the only way that happens is when humans start to prosper so they can focus on other things, like the environment around them. If you’re hungry you don’t care.

The US has already done better in clean up and CO2 control (if it’s really a problem) than any other country. And we don’t need an agreement taking taxpayer dollars to do it. We do the right thing because we have the time and the luxury to focus on it. A carbon tax scam like Europe and Al Gore was involved with confiscation of farm land used to feed people in areas like central and south America to plant hi growth trees for carbon offsets is not what we need more of.

Humans are part of the planet eco system. Better start putting that into the equation.

97 percent of the worlds climate scientists agree that human CO2 emissions create warming of the atmosphere thus climate change.

Well Lisa, we can agree on the 97% survey finding of yours. But it stops there.

Do those scientist not believe the sun is the primary and only distributor of heat in our solar system and thus the only basic source of causing global warming. No sun and there’s no civilization on the Earth is there. That is also the so very and most important a point left out of the Al Gore nonsense we read and hear. Do these scientists even understand how and why coal, oil and natural gas are formed. I do because the how ( which I explained ) is a proven matter in the Earth’s history not some opinion.

All of us including Mike and me, contrary to what you claim about us, are concerned about global warming. We just refuse to believe all of those self serving scientist on politician payrolls who lie about the data they present and publish phoney data ( with hockey stick graphs ) and offer up unproven schemes for control of the heating going, which are aimed in the wrong direction because the sun is the starting point and not CO2 gas.

Why can’t you tell us facts other than a useless survey to support what you think . And what actually do you think this global warming is caused by – not only CO2 I hope.. Is attacking the messenger your only evidence ? When you offer facts that pertain I will be happy to listen. Mike might be too.

    The Bloody Machine
    By Tommy Acosta
What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old. We die. Everything we experience is but a dream between those two points. Or are we manifestations of a Divine Creator, every one of us complete in the image that we were made? So, we are told.
