Additionally at the event, attendees are encouraged to cast their vote in a NAWS-sponsored competition for the Members Award and People’s Choice Award. Note: only NAWS members may vote for the Members Award, while the general public may vote for the People’s Choice Award.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Marlette’s early work was influenced by California artists Jade Fon, Jane Burnham, Rusty Walker, Richard Yip and Gerald Brommer. Marlette is a signature member of NAWS as well as a member of El Valle Artists Association. Marlette enjoys sharing techniques with local watercolor groups and friends. Her latest interest is creating illustrated journals and stories.
Schneider moved to Arizona from Illinois and has been painting with watercolors for close to 30 years. Her favorite subjects are birds and animals and enjoys painting landscapes and flowers. She explores painting in ways that are new to her, which add fun challenges. Her hope is that the joy and passion she finds in her artwork will come through to those who view the work.
This exhibition is also a celebration of the 30th anniversary of NAWS. As such, don’t miss the opportunity to see additional paintings in the Vultee Conference Room created by founding and long-time NAWS members Marlette, Rita Bond, Betty Carr, Norma Gibson, Joyce Killebrew and Julie Ronning Talbot.
Private viewings are available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, or for more information on the City Hall Art Rotation Program, please contact Arts and Culture Specialist Nancy Lattanzi at 928-203-5078 or NLattanzi@SedonaAZ.gov.
