Sedona AZ (June 1, 2015) – The Hospice Compassus program serving Sedona and the surrounding areas recognizes Ashley Kuykendall during the 38thAnnual National Nursing Assistants Week June 11-18 for providing the highest level of quality hospice care for patients and their families.

“We are proud to recognize Ashley for the compassionate hospice care she provides our patients and families,” said Susan Blanchard, Executive Director for Hospice Compassus – Sedona. “Ashley’s positive and caring attitude, exceptional ability to understand and comfort patients, and willingness to support colleagues makes her an integral part of our Hospice Compassus team.”

20150611_hospiceNursing assistants provide as much as 90 percent of the direct long term care delivered in the United States. Hospice Compassus nursing assistants may provide care in the patient’s own home or the home of a loved one, a long-term care or assisted living facility, or hospital.

“With their regular visits, nursing assistants become trusted sources of comfort and support for patients and families, and they play an important role in our care team by relating any concerns regarding the patient to other members of our hospice team,” Michael Amadei, M.D., Medical Director for Hospice Compassus – Sedona.

Hospice Compassus – Sedona will recognize its local nursing assistants this week by presenting them with framed certificates of appreciation for their dedication to the patients and families they serve.

I would like to congratulate Ashley for her National Recognition of Superior Nursing Care. You look like an angel in your photograph. If I, or anyone I am close to were living our last days on earth, I would want you to care for us. True compassion and caring for our brothers and sisters, is what we should all strive for. Some people, like you Ashley, seem to be born with this special gift. Thank you for all that you do to comfort those who are helpless and perhaps lonely.

      Many Blessings to you,
      Judy Gibson
