logo_redroseinspirationSedona AZ (December 13, 2012) – Celebrate the Season with a gift that grows…and attracts butterflies to your garden! Audrey Stephens AKA The Butterfly Lady is on a quest to get more folks growing butterfly friendly plants. Red Rose Inspiration for Animals is delighted to not only be promoting their second Holiday Festival Marketplace at the Sedona Wine & Beer Company (aka Hoppy Grape Lounge) located at 2575 W. SR 89A,. but being able to help Audrey with her mission.

The first 100 people at the Festival who introduce themselves to the The Butterfly Lady and say the magic words, “I HAVE COME TO HELP THE BUTTERFLIES”, will receive a FREE seed packet with over 20 different plants including annuals, perennials, wildflower and milkweed seeds

Red Rose Inspiration for Animals’ first Holiday Marketplace was held in December, 2010 and was a success not only for the animals, but also for all the local talented artists who had the opportunity to showcase their art. That special and unique gift you are looking for could be at the Holiday Festival, which is being held from Thursday, December 20th – Sunday, December 23 and then again December 27th –30th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some of the featured artists include: All-A-Glow Jewelry, Red Hills Art Gallery, Mata Ortiz Pottery, Hidden Valley Farms Soap Company.

All proceeds from this event will go to Red Rose Inspiration for Animals, a 501c3 nonprofit Animal Rescue Organization in Sedona, who are dedicated to helping animals in need within the Verde Valley.

Come for the Free Monarch Butterfly Workshop Daily from Thursday, December 20 – Sunday, December 23rd and December 27th – 30th at 2:00 pm

    Sedona Gift Shop

Each spring & fall the monarch butterfly passes through the Verde Valley, and is looking for a succulent and safe landing zone. The flight from their overwintering area in Southern California is a dry & dusty journey, and hungry monarchs will be looking for flowers to sip from as soon as they arrive here in the springtime. There are several varieties of local wildflowers included in the seed mix, many blooming season after season for you and your local butterflies to enjoy. As well as helping the local butterfly population, The Butterfly Lady works with butterfly farmers across the country and has developed a system of saving farmed butterflies that are raised to be released at weddings and ceremonies from the compost pile. Like any other farmed crop, there is some loss. Butterfly farming is a difficult business. Instead of simply throwing away the expired butterflies at the farm, Audrey preserves their beautiful wings in a clear epoxy and turns them into Mother Nature’s Art…Recycled & preserved to enjoy for years to come.

What could be better than free flowers? FREE CHOCOLATE!

Besides a deep love for butterflies, Audrey also has a deep love of Chocolate. Many years ago she wondered what the very first chocolate was like…how was it made and with what? After years of research she believes to have re-created a sacred beverage the Mayans once offered to the Gods- the Original Chocolate. Chocolate in its first form was served as a hot drink, brewed with spices such as cinnamon, cloves and red pepper. She will have this divine brew for the tasting, by the cup and a concentrate you can take home for many cups at your leisure. Come by and taste some ancient history sure to warm you to your toes.

Come and share the holiday season spirit with family and friends at Sedona’s new gathering place: The Sedona Wine and Beer Co. Experience the fabulous Soups, Sandwiches, Salads, Wine Tastings, Tapas, Beer, & Entertainment.

    Hey Papi
    Happy Father’s Day Papi!

How’s it going up there in heaven? It’s Father’s Day here on Earth, and I’m thinking of you—missing you—now that I’m one year older than you were when you passed away. I just want to thank you for everything you taught me. Thank you for taking such good care of me. Thank you for helping me walk when I couldn’t walk. Thank you for making me strong against all adversity. Thank you for teaching me how to look behind the scenes and see what’s not being shown.
