A double-bill of comedy and music will feature the ultimate tribute show to Elton John and Billy Joel and the high-flying physical comedy of Barnaby at the Sedona Performing Arts Center

logo_SIFFSedona AZ (March 9, 2013) – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to partner with the Sedona 30 and the National Performing Artists and Sedona Performing Arts Alliance for the “Live at SPAC” concert series at the Sedona Performing Arts Center.

The next show in the 2013 series will be on Thursday, March 14, featuring “Face to Face” — the ultimate tribute show to Elton John and Billy Joel — and the high-flying physical comedy of Barnaby.

The show is appropriate for all ages and prides itself on family-friendly entertainment. Showtime will be 7:00 p.m. on March 14 at the Sedona Performing Arts Center at Red Rock High School.

    FACE TO FACE

Elton John and Billy Joel tribute artists Joey Riedel and Michael John have joined forces to create The Ultimate Tribute Show based on the Face to Face Show performed by Elton John and Billy Joel. The two capture both the original artists in their new, high energy, interactive Rock N Roll show.

20130309_siffInitial concert events have been highly successful with all involved raving about the show and Joey and Michael’s intensity on stage. Just like the original tour, each artist performs a solo set with a killer Rock ‘N’ Roll band, and then culminate the show with a Face to Face set which features both of them playing together on two pianos trading off lyrics on each song they perform.

Joey — visually and through his performance — captures Elton John in the 70’s and current day. He is known for his captivating entertainment prowess and his unbelievable recreation of Elton’s outrageous costumes.

Joey and Michael bring this experience to The Ultimate Tribute show adding funny performance bits, sing-a-long parts, and spontaneous humor. The Billy Joel Elton John Ultimate Tribute show is a night of hit songs, energetic performances, outrageous costumes, and true Rock ‘N’ Roll at its finest!

    BARNABY

A one-of-a-kind original physical comedian, Barnaby’s amazing one-man variety show features original music, funny one-liners and an array of unique and incredible juggling feats. He delivers his laughs with a truly unique physicality. With his amazing skills and quirky sense of the ridiculous, Barnaby keeps as many laughs bouncing around as objects. His performance is as unusual and entertaining as his appearance and will have the crowd laughing and awestruck. You will not believe his many inventive tasks. Hang on! A Barnaby show is spellbinding, awesome and hysterical.

Barnaby utilizes a wide variety of props. He juggles balls, of course, (up to six at a time), soccer balls, rings and burning clubs, which lead to his big finale involving his guitar and a cigarette trick. Barnaby has an incredibly quick wit and special humor that is always enjoyed by his audience — young and old alike!

Face to Face and Barnaby will appear live at the Sedona Performing Arts Center at Red Rock High School on Thursday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are available at three price levels on a first come-first served basis: $45, $35 or $25. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.SedonaFilmFestival.org or www.Sedona30.com. Call 928-282-1177 for details and more information.

    What Would I Change?
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

What would I change if I could? You and I both know I can’t, but it’s a fun exercise anyway. I would have been less of a know-it-all on my spiritual journey. It seems to be a side-effect of the path. Spiritual folks develop an all-knowing buffer to protect against their inevitable surrender to the unknown, but understanding that now didn’t make it gentler on me or those I loved, let alone those that I deemed not capable of getting it 😉 Yeah … I’d have dropped the spiritual snob act. I’d have recognized that spiritual radicals are only different on the outside from radical right Christians, and that the surface doesn’t really matter as much as I thought. We are all doing our couldn’t be otherwise things, playing our perfect roles. I’d have learned to bow down humbly before my fellow man, regardless of whether I agreed with him or not. We’re all in this together and not one of us will get out alive. Read more→
