Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival presents “The Naughty Adventures of Scarlett May Blossom” on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
Join us for the World Premiere of the first three episodes of Season One of a new TV series that, according to its director Paul Davids has a totally unique place in cinema and TV history, because it is the first series that has been visually created using AI.
You’ve heard about “AI” for years –- everyone declares that artificial intelligence is the wave of the future. More likely it’s the giant tsunami of the future. But you have NEVER seen anything like “The Naughty Adventures of Scarlett May Blossom.”
Although the characters look quite real, and they express themselves with delightful comedic deadpan, the scenes were all created not with a camera, not with sets and locations, but with months of computer labor using multiple AI programs by Paul Davids and his partner in crime, art director and executive producer Ron James (producer with Paul Davids of “Accidental Truth – UFO Revelations”).
Paul insists that the series is naughty by suggestion, teasing without tasteless T&A, and both savvy and sassy. Scarlett May Blossom, the AI character who is amazingly voiced by Scarlett Farmer, is an 18-year-old Alabama trailer park beauty whose naivety attracts about a dozen boys and men that she insists she “knows how to handle” – but does she? She never expected that one spam email, promising her riches, would end up thrusting her into an international adventure.
The series is based on a 2009 humorous book written anonymously by Scarlett Farmer and Paul Davids called “Scarlett May Blossom’s Diary: Ceilings I Have Seen.” The series boasts some catchy country music, as the brothers Russell and Martin Metzger put new tunes into your brain that you just cannot shake loose. Try “The Bottom Half of Rock Bottom” and “Gonna Buy Me a Bottle of Whiskey” on for size, plus the magical melody of the song “Scarlett May Blossom.”
For your pre-Halloween weekend, see these amazing shows before the streaming release of all nine episodes. The future of TV and movies is…. Scary?
There will be a Q&A presentation with filmmakers Paul and Hollace Davids and Ron James following the screening — where they will reveal their secrets.
