logo sedonarecyclesSedona AZ (October 14, 2011) – On Saturday, October 15th, Sedona Recycles will host the 3rd annual Community Swap Meet. The event will be held on the upper field at Posse Grounds Park from 9am-2pm. The Swap Meet (a.k.a. garage sale, flea market, tag sale, etc.) is free and open to the public and will include activities for all ages.

Kids can decorate reusable Trick-or-Treat bags for Halloween and make recycled arts and crafts, and the whole family can head over to the concession stand for some homemade barbecue. Try your luck and enter to win some of the great items available in the raffle and silent auction.

The Swap Meet is Sedona’s only Zero Waste event, with all items being recycled or composted. Curious? Visit one of the four Zero Waste Stations at the event to learn more.

The first Sedona Recycles Swap Meet was held in 1989. After a 20-year hiatus, the event was revived in October 2009! The Swap Meet is now held annually, every October.

Is stuff piling up in your garage? Bring those unwanted items to the Swap Meet and forget the hassle of holding your own garage sale. Anyone can reserve a 12’ x 15’ space for a small fee of $30 ($25 for Sedona Recycles members, $20 for nonprofit organizations/churches). All fees are tax-deductible and benefit Sedona Recycles, your nonprofit recycling center.

One thing is for sure: there will be something for everyone at the Community Swap Meet. So come and make the old adage “one man’s trash is another’s treasure” a reality. See you there!

To reserve a space or for more information, call (928) 204-1185 or visit www.sedonarecycles.org

Belief vs. Suspicion: Will Iran go the Way of Iraq, Gaza and Palestine?

It was belief that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction that led us into war with Iraq. It’s suspicion that Iran seeks to build a nuclear warhead that has led us into war with them.
As it turned out, Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. Will it be the same with Iran?
