logo_olli2Sedona AZ (September 14, 2018) – Please join us for a most interest presentation and discussion at the Yavapai College Sedona Center room 34 on Sept 20th at 5:30pm.  This event is sponsored by OLLI – the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (part of Yavapai College).

Here in Sedona, where we have UFO sightseeing tours, the topic of extraterrestrials is perhaps not as strange is it might be elsewhere.  We are also blessed with vortexes and a variety of spiritually based experiences on offer.  But, what is the connection, if any, between the two?  And are UFO’s just a figment of the tour operator’s imaginations?

Ann Eller and Dr. James Witt will present a program in which their views on extraterrestrials (ET’s) are diametrically opposed, however, their perspectives on spirituality have a most interesting intersection.  They met several months ago, through a mutual friend, when Ann was invited to be a key presenter at the Interplanetary Federal Peace and Development Conference in Geneva, and she asked James to help her design that presentation.

Ann will make the case for the existence of Extraterrestrials based on her work with Dr. Josef Hynek (advisor to the US Air Force for over 20 years), and her own personal encounters, and then how spirituality fits into that belief.   Dr. James Witt will explore arguments for skepticism of the existence of ET’s and the case for a Universal Spiritual Presence which ET’s, if they exist, must be dependent upon. He maintains that his view is based on inductive scientific reasoning.

Ann’s passion for Extraterrestrials began with an extensive study of that subject, which led her to Dr. Hynek.  He was so impressed with her, he hired her as his personal assistance. Dr. Hynek famously changed from sceptic to believer in the existence of extraterrestrials after over 20 years of research with the USAF.  With exposure to the evidence Ann became privy to, her belief in ETs deepened, bolstered by her own “personal encounters”.

On the spiritual front, James Witt’s search for evidence of a higher power began as a teenager with his exposure to the essays of Emerson and extensive reading of the great philosophers. His formal collegiate training was largely based in science and culminated with postdoctoral work at UCLA exploring how people learn. This lead him to his profession as an educational therapist, and consultant to technological companies. So with a deep background in science, he was a skeptic about UFO’s when he met Anne.  However, his study of spiritual matters had never ceased and he became curious about the possible relationships between beliefs in ET’s and spirituality in general.

Please join us to find out where James and Ann have arrived at in the intersection of their differing beliefs on spirituality and UFO’s.  For more information call 928-649-4275.

    The Politics of Pain

If there’s one thing nearly every living organism on this planet shares, it is the ability to feel pain. The pain of hunger. Of loneliness. Of illness. The pain of broken bones and broken bodies, broken hearts and broken homes. The pain of poverty, depression, the death of someone we love—and, eventually, the anticipation of our own death. Pain, in all its shapes and shadows, is the one certainty life gives us all. No one escapes it.
