Sedona AZ (April 6, 2019) – Do you remember walking barefoot along the beach or barefoot on the grass? Do you remember feeling some tingling in your feet or legs, or a sense of warmth or well-being rising up into your body? “That sensation is the result of direct barefoot contact with the surface of the Earth, which brims with natural, subtle energy”, according to Heart MD Institute. According to the Institute’s Dr. Stephen Sinatra, “Emerging science reveals that direct contact with the ground allows you to receive an energy infusion, compliments of Mother Earth. Think of it as “vitamin G” – G for ground. Just as the sun above creates vitamin D in your body, the ground below provides you with vitamin G, a kind of electrical nutrition.”

20190406_ShaidaSinaIn honor of Earth Day and April designated as Sustainability Month, The Mental Health Coalition’s Mental Health Monday will feature Dr. Shaida Sina doing a presentation on “Mother Earth: The Connection to Brain Wellness and Aging Gracefully”. The presentation will include a lecture and an outdoor “grounding” experience. The program will take place on Monday, April 29, 10AM-Noon, at Yavapai College Sedona at 4215 Arts Village Drive. The program is free and open to the public and is a partnership with OLLI at Yavapai College.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
