Sedona News – In honor of Earth Day, the Sedona Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (SUUF) is hosting a thought-provoking event titled “Keeping the Earth,” which will feature a film presentation and discussion exploring both the spiritual and scientific perspectives on our environment. As the impacts of climate change become increasingly evident, the event will delve into critical questions about how we should think and feel about the future of our planet and its inhabitants.
Led by Dr. Stefan Sommer, Emeritus Professor at Northern Arizona University (NAU) and Board Member of the Northern Arizona Climate Change Alliance (NAZCCA), the presentation will address what is currently happening on Earth, the responsibilities we hold as individuals and a society, and how we can move forward in a time of unprecedented environmental challenges.
This session offers a unique opportunity to engage with these important topics, combining scientific insight with spiritual reflections on our relationship with the Earth. Dr. Sommer will be joined by Rev. Anthony and Rev. Guillermo to guide attendees through an enlightening conversation on how we can better care for our world and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
The event will be held at the Church of the Red Rocks, 54 Bowstring Dr., Saturday, April 26th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It is free and open to the public, providing a chance for everyone to learn, share, and engage in a collective effort to protect and preserve the Earth.
