    City Seeks Proposals for Sedona Community Pool Slide

    City of Sedona ArizonatSedona AZ (February 21, 2013) – The City of Sedona is currently accepting proposals for the design and installation of a water slide at the Sedona Community Pool. This project must be completed by May 17, 2013.

    Interested bidders may attend a site visit with Rachel Murdoch, Recreation and Aquatics Supervisor, on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Attendance is not mandatory, but interested parties must RSVP that they plan on attending. All attendees will meet at the Sedona Community Pool, 570 Posse Ground Road in Sedona. The RFP can be found at www.SedonaAZ.gov under Business tab or by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department for an electronic copy at (928) 282-7098.

    Sealed proposals will be accepted in the City Clerk’s office until Friday, March 8, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. Sealed proposals should be addressed to Rachel Murdoch, Recreation and Aquatics Supervisor, and delivered to the City Clerk’s Office, located at 102 Roadrunner Drive, Sedona, AZ 86336.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
