City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (December 21, 2016) – With 2016 being a record year for numerous weather-related, devastating disasters, the need for blood donation is needed now more than ever, and the city of Sedona is helping the American Red Cross in their efforts to save lives with an upcoming blood drive on February 8, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

20161221_citySedona and Verde Valley community members are encouraged to give blood, or come in support of a friend who will be donating blood, in order to help make this bi-annual event successful. Each day, the American Red Cross must collect 15,000 donations to meet the needs of American patients throughout the nation.

While walk-ins are accepted, the best way to ensure a donation is to make an appointment through the American Red Cross website. Visit www.RedCrossBlood.org, enter the sponsor code “sedona” and select a time slot to donate. Those with appointments have priority over walk-ins.

Representatives from the American Red Cross will be on hand to make donors comfortable and offer light refreshments. The drive will be located in the Vultee Conference Room at City Hall on 102 Roadrunner Drive.
