City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (March 9, 2016) – This is much more than an egg hunt; it’s a Celebration of Spring. Join city of Sedona Parks and Recreation on Saturday, March 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a fun, family-friendly event held at Posse Grounds Park, 525 Posse Ground Road. Those in the community that enjoy spring and the outdoors are invited.

Upon arrival, attendees will walk to the Posse Grounds Park lower softball field for entrance onto the multi-use field for games and vendors. There is a $5 admission fee for children 12 and younger. The fun includes inflatable toys for kids, pony rides, face painting, carnival rides, a petty zoo and much more. Some vendors may charge for their goods.

The official egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. for children 8 years of age and younger. Children will be divided into age groups (0-2, 3-5, 6-8). The hunt for the thousands of eggs goes fast, so it is recommended that children be ready by 10 a.m. sharp. Parents are asked to refrain from assisting their children during the egg hunt unless children are 2 years of age or younger.

The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols
    By Tommy Acosta
Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
