By Scott Jablow, Candidate for Re-Election for Sedona Mayor The referendum to overturn the decisions of Sedona’s Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council on the “Safe Place to Park” initiative has sparked a community-wide debate. At the core of this issue is a proposal to revive a 20-year-old outdoor event center, which proponents claim can be revitalized without using taxpayer money. Residents should be cautious about coming to conclusions about a Disneyland-type venue being built in the heart of our city without a comprehensive citizen-based input process. The real issue isn’t their supposed “concerns” about “Safe Place to Park,”…

By Tommy Acosta Has he lost his mind? Has he gone cuckoo? Did he lose his marbles? How could he be so stupid? Trump continues attacking a man that holds his future in the palm of his hand. He is giving the judge all the ammunition he needs to throw the book at him. Even if he just places Trump under house arrest, he hobbles the Republican effort to take the White House. Just think of the perp walk spectacle or the handcuffing. It’s ugly, and it’s no joke. The judge is pissed and itching for revenge. People can argue…

By Steve Segner The up coming November election on Proposition 483 and its implications for the future of Sedona’s housing and public spaces. Proposition 483 “stop the zoning” The referendum appears to be a backdoor effort to push through the redevelopment of an outdoor amphitheater under the guise of canceling the city’s simple zoning change for Sedona workers to park their cars overnight. The reality that there are dozens of Sedona-employed workers already sleeping in vehicles in the forest or other clandestine locations was ignored by the proponents of the referendum, now known as Proposition 483. By Amaya Gayle Gregory When your heart is breaking it feels like the pieces will never fit together again. They won’t, not in the same way. That’s is an unavoidable consequence of life. The breaking always leaves cracks, spaces where the light of loss pours itself into the world and what a gift that is! You don’t let the light in. By John Martinez Sedona, AZ – I, like everyone else, think the Most Critical Issue Facing Sedona is the management of Traffic. As previously stated, Maricopa/Pinal Counties are the second fasting growing counties in the United States, and those residents will be coming to our city to see the beauty of what our town has to offer. Whoever the Civil Engineer was when the city was planned, did a pretty poor job of deciding how to get from one end of the city to the other side with only one road (North and South). We also must realize that we…

… two days in a row on the lake and thousands of great shots … also two successive days of being up at 2:45AM to make it down there and be on the water before the sun comes up over the mountains to the east … life really happens down there in the early morning hours before everyone including us is off the water and seeking shelter, shade and cool by 9:30 AM. The juvenile eagles that just fledged a few weeks ago are still hanging out together and the adults are more or less overseeing the activities of the…
