    logo_USFS_USDASedona AZ (December 18, 2012) – The Red Rock Visitor Center announces Arizona Natural History Association’s (ANHA) holiday sale going on now and also new visitor center operating hours from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning January, 2013.

    If you are looking for some unusual holiday gift ideas, Arizona Natural History Association’s Holiday Sale offers a great variety of local gifts to consider. Gift ideas include: local artist photography, children books and toys, warm southwest hats and scarfs, a variety of local books on plants and animal identification, unique southwest cookbooks and much more. The 20% discount sale on all items will continue through the holidays.

    Volunteers from both the Sedona Friends of the Forest and Arizona Natural History Association provide a wealth of knowledge and the latest Red Rock Country updates at the Visitor Center. Please stop by, say hello and gather more information on what there is to do in Red Rock Country.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
