City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (October 17, 2011) – The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Department has moved its water aerobics program indoors for the winter. Ongoing for several years, this year round program is available to adults of most physical fitness levels who are interested in adding variety to their work-out routines. Water aerobics is a leader in low impact aerobic exercise, allowing the participant to work at their own pace while toning muscles, working range of motion and getting their heart rate moving. New this winter, we have added AquaZumba to our weekly schedule.

Beginning November 2, participants can enjoy water aerobics and AquaZumba Monday through Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the Villas of Sedona indoor swimming pool. Located at 120 Kaloff Place in Sedona, it’s conveniently located for the Sedona community to drive to and attend a great class. The class fees is $5 per class, or for your convenience, we offer discounted punch passes. Save 20% by purchasing an $80 pass good for 20-visits, or a $40 pass good for 10-visits. Passes do not expire until the punches have been used up.

City Council Weighs ATV Ban Ordinance Proposal
    By Tommy Acosta
The Sedona City Council at its May 23, 2023 meeting took no action on a proposed ordinance that would ban all off-road vehicles from being driven on state-owned public roads or streets owned by the city. The ordinance, spearheaded by Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow on the premise that such vehicles pose a risk to the health, safety and welfare of the community, would impose heavy fines to anyone driving the ATVs or OHVs on city streets, including S.R. 179 and S.R. 89A. ATV rental companies have admitted that such vehicles are not intended or designed to be driven on paved roads, yet, in Arizona, they are allowed to do so under Arizona Revised Statute 28-1174 (4B). Opponents against the ordinance argued at the meeting that if adopted the ban would cripple the ATV rental industry in Sedona and cause much hardship to the owners and employees, as it would effectively, as written, destroy their livelihood.
