logo_jeromeartwalkSedona AZ (October 1, 2018) – Enjoy the fall evening in Jerome during the October 6th First Saturday Art Walk. Once again, the magical mountain town will be hosting a night filled with art, music and refreshments galore. Art Walk is the only night that galleries are open from 5 to 8pm. Members like the Jerome Artists Coop, Firefly, and Karon Leigh Art Studio in the Old Jerome High School all bring a fresh energy to the vibrant art scene in Jerome. With 25 participating galleries, studios, and sponsoring businesses and restaurants offering specials, this is a festive night in Jerome.

Pura Vida Gallery will host a trunk show for fiber artist Joan Edelstein.  Joan has always been captivated by the visual and tactile textures of fiber; in raw form, in fabric form, in constructed, wearable form. She utilizes all types of fabrics and fibers: natural fibers-silks, linens, cottons, synthetic fibers-metallics, rayons, nylons, poly-blends, plastics. Brand new, right-off-the-bolt fabrics, and, the ones she loves best: the pieces she cuts from a skirt she found for $2.00 at the Good Will Store or the trim off her Mom’s jacket that now has moth holes in it.  Her current body of work is the creation of mixed fiber collage scarves and wraps each being a one of a kind art piece.  Join Pura Vida Gallery for champagne and chocolates on the evening of the Art Walk and see Joan’s newest creations.

20181001_CodyDeLong_BetweenA-Rock-and-a-hard-placeCody DeLong is just back from the Grand Canyon Plein Air event, where his studio piece sold within minutes on opening night! After being gone from the studio for the past month, Cody will be back at the easel for Art Walk, stop in to see his latest work and what’s wet on the easel. CodyDeLong.com

Inspired by our Arizona landscape and weather, Karon Leigh has created new monsoon paintings in her studio at the Old Jerome High School.

Please join Zen Mountain Gallery for October Art Walk as the gallery continues it’s focus on local artists. Zen Mountain Gallery is a collection of over fifty local artists including fine art, jewelry, pottery and glass work. Zen Mountain Gallery represents noted fine artists such as Dave Drost’s photography, ceramic artists including Elizabeth Bonzani, Hans Miles and Luna Patterson and jewelers including Matagi Sorensen, Nancy Bihler and Komala Rohde. Join us from 5-8 for a glass of Arizona wine from Vino Zona and hors d’oeuvres from The Flat Iron Cafe and find a special piece of art or jewelry from a local artist.

20181001_rainagentryJanie Layers will be featuring a new sculpture inside the New State Motor Company.  It is a 12″ hand-formed clay work of Jesus holding an orange, titled: Reconciled.  The Jerome Bible Art Museum will also be serving a 1st Century sumptuous meal at no cost.

Puscifer is pleased to announce our first Art Walk. We will be open until 8pm and featuring artist Joey William The SkullMaster.

Don’t forget Made in Jerome Pottery in the curve by the fire station with their unique and ever evolving work by local artists. Did you know that Made in Jerome is the only place in the world where you can buy pottery by Dave Hall, Jane Moore and Hanna Flagg? Dave’s new edition of his Zine will also be available!  As always there will be music in the kiln yard! Come and join the fun!

Your Art Walk evening in Jerome wouldn’t be complete without dinner or drinks at one of the many wonderful restaurants. Don’t miss The Haunted Hamburger and Wicked City Brew with 12 craft brew on tap.

This free event has become a Verde Valley favorite with a shuttle that will transport you from the artist filled Old Jerome High School, up to the center of town to Caduceus Cellars, The Spirit Room, Cody DeLong studio to Made in Jerome Potter and everything in-between. Sedona, AZ — A cottage industry on steroids has erupted across the United States, fueled by the political firestorm around immigration and the logistical nightmare of enforcing it. President Donald Trump returned to power with the singular focus of cracking down on illegal immigration. The country is watching an old issue swell into an industrial-scale operation—an expensive, chaotic, and morally fraught machine that’s straining every gear in the federal system.
