Pura Vida Gallery will host a trunk show for fiber artist Joan Edelstein. Joan has always been captivated by the visual and tactile textures of fiber; in raw form, in fabric form, in constructed, wearable form. She utilizes all types of fabrics and fibers: natural fibers-silks, linens, cottons, synthetic fibers-metallics, rayons, nylons, poly-blends, plastics. Brand new, right-off-the-bolt fabrics, and, the ones she loves best: the pieces she cuts from a skirt she found for $2.00 at the Good Will Store or the trim off her Mom’s jacket that now has moth holes in it. Her current body of work is the creation of mixed fiber collage scarves and wraps each being a one of a kind art piece. Join Pura Vida Gallery for champagne and chocolates on the evening of the Art Walk and see Joan’s newest creations.
Cody DeLong is just back from the Grand Canyon Plein Air event, where his studio piece sold within minutes on opening night! After being gone from the studio for the past month, Cody will be back at the easel for Art Walk, stop in to see his latest work and what’s wet on the easel. CodyDeLong.com
