Sedona, AZ — The Two Fer Tuesday “Blessing Group” is sponsoring a new Two Fer Tuesday on Tuesday, September 20, to help both humans AND pets (a true Two Fer!) that are in desperate need of food.

Compassionate Valley residents are asked to help celebrate the one-year anniversary of the “Fill the Need”Food Bank in the Village of Oak Creek with donations of food and pet food to help the underserved communities of the VOC, Rimrock, Cornville, Camp Verde and Lake Montezuma.

Food costs are skyrocketing. Grocery costs are up 13.1% (largest increase since 1979): eggs up 38%, flour up 22.7%, milk up 15.6%, ground beef up 9.7%, bacon up 9.2%, fruits and veggies up 9.3%.

Police reports show people are reduced to stealing meat, cheese, spices, sausages, and over the counter meds from grocery stores.

The Two -Fer Tuesday philanthropic group is asking the community to help the hungry people and pets of the Verde Valley.

Three donation stations will be open on September 20:

(1.) The front sidewalk of the Sedona United Methodist Church, 110 Indian Cliffs Road, Sedona 86336

(2.) The front sidewalk of Cafe Jose, 2370 AZ 89 A, Suite 1, Sedona, 86336

    Sedona Gift Shop

(3.) Cleaner Quicker Car Wash and Detailing, 1515 West State Road 89-A, Sedona, 86336.

    Supplies needed:

Instant oatmeal (cylinder containers only, please), small bottles of spices (all kinds), nuts (salted and unsalted), juices in six pack containers, canned chicken, canned tuna, canned sardines, soups (but not creamy), crackers, mustard, salad dressings (Ranch and Thousand Island), mayo, cooking oils, pickles, black olives, relish, catsup, microwave popcorn for kids, Raisin Bran, healthy children’s cereals, packages of cookies, snacks like Goldfish, Kind Bars, shelf-stable milk like Almond, peanut butter and jelly, hygiene items like soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, pet food for cats and dogs.

Please reach into your hearts and help us feed the hungry and disadvantaged during these hard times where entire families are going hungry, that not only can feed themselves but not even their pets as well.

    God bless you all.
