… from all appearances the Great Egret above is looking down at the shore and has a very bad case of envy for the catch that the coyote has just made. It doesn’t always happen, but when you get the right lighting and all the other good things the detail in these beautiful white birds just pops and the expression makes for a great story.

During spawning season the coyotes down at Lake Pleasant have a field day as the carp are coming in close to shore to lay their eggs. In this case the coyote nailed about a five pound carp and after securing his kill, he carried it about a hundred feet on shore and had his meal under a bush which kept the news of his kill pretty quiet. Predators frequently seek shelter to keep the knowledge of their successful hunts private … there are those who would strip them of their well deserved meal.

Katie continues to shape the functioning of our home to her liking … following in the paw prints of Nimbus, Q and One, she is adding her unique life style to the collective history that only feline creatures can create and the blending of experiences is rich and rewarding.

The rains this afternoon were wonderful and reminiscent of the monsoon season of 1992 when we built our home. That summer we had rain nearly every day all summer and in the winter of 1994 Oak Creek overflowed the old bridge at Tlaquepaque and was about 500′ wide at Red Rock Crossing. Love this weather!

Have a beautiful day and share the joy in your life with others … nothing beats a beautiful smile!

    Cheers,
