Sedona Internatonal Film FestivalSedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Unplugging” showing April 23-28 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

“Unplugging” is an outrageous new romantic comedy starring Eva Longoria and Matt Walsh.

After the death of a friend, Dan (Walsh) is inspired to whisk his wife Jeanine (Longoria) away to a remote town for a “digital detox”.

What starts as a perfect weekend getaway without technology quickly spirals out of control, forcing them to discover the only way home is to rely on each other.

Think a rustic getaway with no cell service, internet or social media is a romantic way to repair your marriage and sex life? Think again.

Meet Dan and Jeanine Dewerson. The only spark in Dan and Jeanine’s bedroom is from the wall socket, and their daughter’s best friend is her iPad — and Dan’s not going to take it anymore.

Dan’s solution: A quiet, relaxing weekend in a remote mountain town. No kids, no phones, no social media, only clean fresh air and lots of romance. But what starts as the perfect weekend quickly becomes a disastrous one, with unearthly encounters, strong edibles, and cranky locals.

Without GPS to guide them, or social media to stave off their boredom, Dan and Jeanine are forced to rediscover each other and the natural world.

“Unplugging” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre April 23-28. Showtimes will be 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 23, 24, 27 and 28; and 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, April 25 and 26.

Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona. For more information, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
