… is a blast and this is my favorite ridge to run; it is short as ridges go, perhaps a couple of miles, but it is fun. The prevailing winds are such that there is frequently a good up slope wind to make it easy to fly back and forth between Humphreys Peak (behind me) and Agassiz Peak which is ahead of me. The upper reaches of Snow Bowl are in the lower right quadrant of the photo. To the left of Agassiz is Fremont and Schultz Peaks and Doyle is mostly hidden behind Agassiz. The inner basin/caldera is on the inside of the peaks and it is beautiful in there.
The mountain before the lateral eruption about 200,000 years ago is thought to have been over 16,000 feet high; today Humphreys Peak at 12,633 feet is the tallest peak in Arizona … and after our storms the past few days there is an abundance of the white stuff on the slopes.
A beautiful snow storm today and more coming … perhaps time to make a snowman again 🙂

In addition to sales of photographs already taken Ted does special shoots for patrons on request and also does air-to-air photography for those who want photographs of their airplanes in flight. All special photographic sessions are billed on an hourly basis.
Ted also does one-on-one workshops for those interested in learning the techniques he uses. By special arrangement Ted will do one-on-one aerial photography workshops which will include actual photo sessions in the air.
