… or perhaps he was just doing a little body surfing. I took this shot of a drake ringneck in early January … he came in for a landing in the normal way with his webbed feet forward, tail down and as soon as his feet contacted the water he tucked them back, stretched his body out and put himself on a plane and ripped through the water like a miniature speed boat. He eventually settled in the water, but I think he just decided to have some fun skimming along the surface of the water as far as he could. If they belonged to the human race I am sure that there would be a competition to see who could go the farthest before settling in the water … maybe a target to land on and then the furthest and fastest distance surfing across the water … winner gets a trophy minnow to eat!
It was a very good day … rain making its way in tomorrow and likely staying through the week. Why stay inside? Come join us at the Mary Fisher Theater Friday afternoon at 4PM and enjoy even more photos of wildlife doing what they do and aerial photography of Sedona and the Colorado Plateau in crystal clear air and incredible lighting … the best of the best.

In addition to sales of photographs already taken Ted does special shoots for patrons on request and also does air-to-air photography for those who want photographs of their airplanes in flight. All special photographic sessions are billed on an hourly basis.
Ted also does one-on-one workshops for those interested in learning the techniques he uses. By special arrangement Ted will do one-on-one aerial photography workshops which will include actual photo sessions in the air.
