logo verdevalleysanctuarySedona AZ (February 29, 2012) – Mark your calendars and put on your dancing shoes! The Verde Valley Sanctuary, a 28-bed shelter for victims of family violence and abuse, will host Dancing in the Moonlight on May 5 at 5 p.m. The evening will include drinks, dinner, a silent auction and dancing to the Latin rhythms of La Cubanita’s Orchestra, all underneath a brilliant full moon. The fundraiser will take place at the breathtaking Lacy Goldenstein Farm on Oak Creek in Cornville. Tickets are $100 per person. Couples will also receive a copy of “HeartBeat,” an album of jazz standards from La Cubanita Orchestra’s lead singer, Mercy Bermudez. Proceeds benefit the Sanctuary’s shelter and community programs.

“This is going to be an extraordinary evening,” says Barry Maketansky, president of the Sanctuary’s board of directors. “La Cubanita’s Orchestra is one of the best bands in northern Arizona, and no one will be able to stay off the dance floor when they take to the stage. We have some incredible silent auction items that have been donated by generous local businesses that believe in our cause. Dancing in the Moonlight will be the social event of the spring.”

Tickets are on sale now. For further details or to purchase tickets, call the Sanctuary or visit its website. This event is expected to sell out, so buy your tickets early!

Verde Valley Sanctuary is a multi-service agency that responds to the problem of domestic abuse in the Sedona-Verde Valley community. The agency was founded in 1993.
