… one of my favorite ducks is the diminutive Hooded Merganser, a very small creature, but what they lack in size is more than made up for by their extraordinary beauty! I took this shot down at the ponds a couple of weeks ago with the Nikon D850 and Nikkor 200/500 mm lens. The watery background is as shot and shows you how even tiny ripples can give you beautiful backgrounds as they catch sunlight … or the lack of it.

Another long and productive day; finished 25 of the photos that are going into the body of the book … 45 to go and then the text for each photo needs to be written. Review by friends and then to the publisher … nice to have everything on track. I’m also thinking I will be able to incorporate some of Max’s work as most of what I use was published pre-1923 and is in the Public Domain.

It is late, and time for some rest … espresso is calling soon!

Have a beautiful day and share your joy … smiles work!

    Cheers

    Ted
