… after my brother and I got done playing indoor golf today (we played Pelican Hills, in Newport Beach) I continued out US 7 to Minnetrista to have another look around some places I saw yesterday and there were was a large flock of Canada Geese in one of the meadows … so out came the Nikon and I got a few shots that looked okay … they took off into the late afternoon sun, so those shots really sucked and are now gone, but I do like this one.
Back when Bruce and I were kids and hunting waterfowl, the sight of a Canada Goose was a rarity … our shots if you could call them that were long distance and the pellets kinda bounced off their wings … nice to see the populations come back and thanks to all the organizations that work so hard to restore wetlands including my favorite, Ducks Unlimited.
On the road in the morning and up to the Upper Eau Clair lake in northern Wisconsin … then the serious shooting begins if the weather cooperates. Here’s hoping!
Have a terrific day and look for the good and beauty in everything and everyone you encounter today … like, why not?
Cheers,
Ted
…I yield myself to the thousand enchantments of sky and field and wood,
and play again like a child on the soft green of the earth.
And as the God of the universe has made thee to bloom in tenderness,
so also may my heart be made to bloom again.
