… out on the deck with One is an especially nice treat as she seldom wanders more than a few feet from our property line … lots of burrs and goats head in the unimproved area beyond. She does go in the grassy area some and we have kind of a very low rock pile running along the line and here she is, right on the border stepping on the rocks. A little imagination and we have her on a grassy hill with incredible cloudy skies and a little more and the foreground is turned into a lake shore so she can hunt the shoreline … such is the mind of a person who has not figured out what he wants to do yet and keeps going and searching … with a lovely little feline to keep him company and encourage creative enterprises.

Actually I spent much of the preceding hours going through the last 18 years of feline friends who have shared their lives with us … Nimbus, Q and now One. It is difficult losing friends such as these, but when we choose to open our hearts to creatures that have substantially shorter life spans than ours, there will be the loss … with the potential to be repeated each time we bring a new creature into our lives, but it is worth it … there are the years of joy when there is the unconditional love that they bring into life.

Earlier today I thought I had a good idea for a photo and text for tonight’s missive … no clue what it was now, but I like this better anyhow. Making good progress pulling photos for the book; next locating the text I wrote with them when I put them in one of these missives, then a re-write of that and with any kind of luck there will be a product worth owning. The goal of course is to have it ready in September along with the 2019 Journey with One calendar.

A minor tragedy of sorts … I have totally lost my taste for chocolate, both dark and milk … after all these years with such a great health food and now the remaining bars of fine chocolate are languishing in the refrigerator … kalamata olives sound and taste so much better. Strange!

Time to call it a night and wrap the day. Have a beautiful day … four hours until first shots of espresso begin to fuel the day … first of course, One receives her brushing in a spot where the sun is lighting up the floor, and then breakfast for her … my turn next.

Cheers and keep breathing … a smile or two also.

    Ted

But from the brooding beauty of the night, and daily dancing shafts of golden sun …
The mystery and wonder of the world … that play the soundless music of the soul
And fill the heart with memory’s olden dreams … From these will come at last your faith in God.
