… had a nice flight this morning and just decided to cruise around and look for stuff. Whilst S of Camp Verde, it seemed like a good idea to fulfill a goal I have often thought of doing, to wit, flying down Copper Canyon, so I did it … very cool! From there I followed I-17 N and veered to the E a bit and did a low altitude over fly at Rimrock Airport and took this shot as I climbed out from Rimrock before heading back to Sedona. I was about 500’ AGL (above ground level) when I took the shot looking towards the N.

In the foreground is a residential development that has been ongoing for a number of years and has a few homes in it … above the development is I-17 heading north from left to right and the rest stops are near the middle of the image. I-17 continues N and loops back into the image on the very right side about two thirds of the way up and SR 179 then cuts left and upwards into the photo. SR 179 runs to the right side of the second mesa from the left in the upper right quadrant of the photo and then through the Village of Oak Creek, past Bell Rock and into to Sedona proper. You can also see the snowcapped San Francisco Peaks N of Flagstaff. On the very far left side you can see the domed top of Thunder Mountain; just to the left of the snow capped peaks is Wilson Mountain in Sedona and Lee Mountain the taller mountain on the right side of the image.

Fun ISO gathering tonight and lots of great food, company and photos … terrific day … again  Going out early in the morning to try and shoot the Vermillion Fly Catcher again, then it will be into the day again and visits with friends and a run to Flagstaff.

Into the weekend for me and hope that you continue to wake in the morning and when you discover that you are still here, let a smile work its way across your face and get ready to have a beautiful day … and weekend!

    Back Monday … Cheers

A bird flies through the sky, and I fly with it. I am each pearl of moisture sparkling in the sun.
I lie lazy on the clouds. And I acknowledge my kinship with each winged thing.
I see all as one, and nothing repels me, as this new day climbs noiselessly out of the valley of the night.
Peace lies over the world and over the world of my soul.
