… just before the sun sets beyond the horizon and with the low angle the atmosphere filters out the blue components of the visible spectrum and the rays spill across the landscape imparting a rich color to the rocks and everything else … and that is apparent in this shot I took of Sedona, last week. Most of the city is captured in this image as well as many of the named rocks. On the horizon from the left you have Kendrick Peak, The San Francisco Peaks and Mt Elden. On the lower right side of the image you have part of the Village of Oak Creek and to the left of that more of the Big Park area where a number of upscale communities and Verde Valley School are located; near right center is Cathedral Rock and above and to the right of that the Chapel area. Above and just left of Cathedral Rock is the airport, oak Creek flows between the two … to the left of the airport is West Sedona, uptown is above and to the right of the airport. The Red Rock Loop area is left and slightly below the airport. It was a beautiful scene!

But from the brooding beauty of the night, and daily dancing shafts of golden sun …
The mystery and wonder of the world … that play the soundless music of the soul
And fill the heart with memory’s olden dreams … From these will come at last your faith in God.
