Sedona AZ (April 29, 2016) – The city of Sedona’s Community Development Department building welcomes spring inside with Therese Black’s photography exhibit, “Spring Blossoms,” currently on display.
The exhibit features bold flowers that catch the eye and were captured in many locations in the Verde Valley, from parks to private gardens. Something that is very important to Black is world peace, which she uses her photos to promote. “My art is a meditation and a path to a state of peace,” said Black.
Originally from Phoenix, Black learned oil painting when she was in fourth grade and continued creating art until her college years, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in physics. After 35 years working in the computer consulting and physics fields, she became inspired to return to art. Black then took up colored pencil, ink art and flower photography, and it wasn’t until 10 years of creating art before she decided to exhibit her work.
“We welcome the public to view this cheerful exhibit, which captures the infinite spectrum of colors and delicate shapes of a variety of flower species. Black’s images will lift the spirit, and leave the scent of each image to the imagination,” said Nancy Lattanzi, city of Sedona arts and culture coordinator.
