City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (April 22, 2016) – Cactus Asphalt will complete road maintenance on Airport Road, the Mystic Hills Subdivision and Chapel Road during the week of April 24, 2016.

Due to the construction activities, traffic will be restricted to a single lane, causing potential delays during morning hours. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, as access to and from residential driveways will be restricted for a period of time while Cactus Asphalt applies the seal coat and allows it to dry. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds through work areas, maintain a safe distance from work vehicles and be cautious of fresh oil.

“These three projects display just another way we work to provide well maintained streets for our residents,” said Jerry Hutchison, right of way specialist, city of Sedona.

Details on each project are below.

    Airport Road Project

The maintenance will occur from Monday, April 25, 2016 through Wednesday, April 27, 2016, 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Airport Road between just south of Valley View Drive and Airport Terminal Road at the top of the mesa. Cactus Asphalt will crack fill and seal coat approximately three-quarters-of-a-mile of Airport Road and the Airport Saddle Trailhead parking lot, and will restripe parking stalls, edge lines and center lines.

Parking access at the Airport Saddle Trailhead will be temporarily restricted on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. As an alternative, people wanting to access the Airport Loop Trail may do so via the Sedona View Trail, located at the top of Airport Road at the Sedona View Trailhead.

    Mystic Hills Subdivision Project

The maintenance in the Mystic Hills Subdivision will occur from Monday, April 25, 2016 through Friday April 29, 2016, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cactus Asphalt will crack fill, seal coat and restripe existing traffic lines as needed in the following roadways in the Mystic Hills Subdivision:

    • East Mallard Drive
    • Acacia Drive
    • Penelope Way
    • Cari Court
    • Geneva Drive
    • East and West McCullough Drive

During construction, on-street parking will be prohibited.

    Chapel Road Project

The maintenance will occur Thursday, April 28, 2016, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m on Chapel Road between the Highway 179 roundabout and Fox Road. Cactus Asphalt will seal coat approximately half-of-a-mile of existing roadway, and restripe the edge and center lines.

All on-street and trailhead parking will be temporarily restricted on Chapel Road and at the Mystic Trailhead. As an alternative, people wanting access to the forest are encouraged to visit the nearby Little Horse Trailhead on Highway 179.

    Beatles Tribute at Blazin’ M

I can honestly say, having grown up in the Bronx in the 60s, that if it had not been for the Beatles I most likely would have grown up to be a criminal or been killed in a violent gang war.
