logo_sedonamuseum2Sedona AZ (October 16, 2015) – The gift-giving holiday season is fast upon us all.  What do we do for those on our list who have everything?  You may want to check out this weekend’s Fall Arts & Crafts Fair at the Sedona Heritage Museum.  The show is Saturday only, October 24 at the Museum in Uptown Sedona.  Doors are open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The show will be set up in the historic Jordan apple packing shed and the surrounding park.

This show is an old-fashioned arts and crafts show like you remember them to be.  All items are hand-made.  The artist or craftsman sits behind each table to personally tell you how they make their pieces, where they find their unusual materials or what inspires them.  Many of these artisans only do this show or a very limited number of other shows making their items unusual and uncommon.  They will have a large variety of handmade and one-of-a-kind offerings.

20151016_gourd-2At this show you will find fine art, ceramics, weavings, quilts and home decor items of all kinds.  Jewelers will show beaded, fused glass, leather and other original materials made into jewelry.  Beautiful wearable art includes clothing, scarves, and accessories – some hand-printed.  Gifts galore including greeting cards, soy candles, hand-crafted bath and body products, items for pets, and many, many other choices will all be on display.

Some of the more interesting artisans this year will be showing their handmade kaleidoscopes, gourds, fused and stained glass pieces, original paintings and photography, balloon art, birdhouses and bird related art, 3-dimensional steel art, gates and fence panels, wooden clocks and music boxes, locally made fruit snacks and lavender items, pine needle baskets, western themed wall hangings and cliff dwelling table sculptures, plus wire wrapped serving pieces.

This show has matured over the years to over 40 vendors and a large attendance.  The Sedona Community Center will be serving lunch on site, so your lunch purchase benefits another local non-profit.  In addition to the arts and crafts booths, the Museum will hold a bake sale of only home-made goodies from 9:00 am until they are all gone!  These proceeds benefit the Museum.  The Museum Gift Shop will also be open for holiday shopping and holding a special clearance sale.
