Sedona AZ (July 26, 2014) – For the first time in more than three decades, comedy legends Monty Python will perform live on stage together. Broadcast from London’s O2 Arena, “Monty Python Live (mostly)” — also known as “The Last Night of Monty Python” — will play in cinemas around the globe, including the Mary D. Fisher Theatre in Sedona. There will be two shows: Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 4 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m.
At a combined age of just 358, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin will once again perform some of their greatest hits, with modern, topical, Pythonesque twists. Monty Python are rightfully regarded as among the world’s finest-ever comedians. They influenced a generation and revolutionised comedy. Their eagerly awaited reunion promises to be among the biggest events of 2014.

There was huge demand for tickets for the first live performances at the O2 on stage by the stars of Monty Python since performing at the Hollywood Bowl on September 15, 1980 and 40 years after they last appeared on stage in the UK at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Monty Python first hit our screens with the Flying Circus, which saw 45 episodes broadcast over four BBC series between 1969 and 1974. The Pythons were an instant success and became the face of British comedy. They went on to achieve overwhelming international acclaim with the huge success of films such as “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” in 1975, “Life of Brian” in 1979 and their final film, “The Meaning of Life” in 1983.
There will be two performances of “Monty Python Live (mostly)” on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 4 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 general admission and $12.50 for Film Festival members and students.
