Jerome AZ (October 21, 2013) – Gallery 527 welcomes back ceramic artist Mary Phoenix, returning from a four year adventure in Asheville, NC where her work is sold at A Gardener’s Place at the esteemed Biltmore Estate. Mary continues her show “Lizards and Leaves”, featuring her lovely, organic ceramic work filled with the essence of nature in all its glory. This talented local favorite is debuting new work including wall sconces adorned with nature’s bounty. Grape leaves, lizards, twigs, and textured embellishments, all make these fascinating one of a kind pieces remarkable and collectible art.
Well known for her fabulous female torsos, three new works will be hanging in the gallery on November 2nd, including a rose embellished sensual creation. This season, owls have joined her menagerie of creatures made in her Clarkdale studio. A series of functional ceramic mugs will also be shown along with a sculptural giant leaf with an iguana.
