SEDONA, AZ. – The city of Sedona is having an open house to give updates on projects for city-owned buildings. The event includes electric car chargers and solar panels that support the city in its efforts to meet its goals to become carbon neutral – meaning it will save as much carbon as it uses.
The open house includes updates from Alternative Energy Systems Consulting, the contractor for the design and engineering phases of projects identified in a municipal decarbonization roadmap established in the Municipal Sustainability Plan. Attendees will be given project summaries and opportunities to give feedback to the planning and design team. Public input on city projects ensures the projects align with community interests and needs.

360 Brewer Rd.In Nov. 2023, the city created a decarbonization roadmap for municipal operations to advance greenhouse gas emissions reductions goals found in the Climate Action Plan and Municipal Sustainability Plan. Projects in the roadmap were to be completed in about a 5-year period.
This planning and design phase represents the critical next step in moving the roadmap from conceptual recommendations to implementation-ready projects. Without this engineering work, the city cannot competitively pursue future grants, refine cost estimates or begin construction on identified decarbonization improvements.
The planning and design project is funded by an Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant through the Arizona Governor’s Office of Resiliency.

Sedona taxpayers are paying for this City of Sedona hoax!!! The City will claim that it is visitors through the sales tax and bed tax, but Sedona citizens are paying for this, too, through higher than necessary sales taxes. The City of Sedona has cash coming out its ears, and wastes, wastes, wastes!!!
