COTTONWOOD, Ariz. – Join the Verde Valley Humane Society on Sunday, October 18th, at their annual golf outing, Tee Up for Tails, to raise funds for shelter animals while enjoying a day out on the course. For the fourth year in a row, play for prizes, participate in the raffle, and try your shot at the $25,000 hole-in-one prize.

The event kicks off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. followed by a scramble format (registration starts at 7:30 a.m.). Golfers of any experience level can sign up individually or as doubles and will be put on a team of four.

The cost is $160 per golfer to sign up, which includes 18 holes, a cart, lunch, golf balls, and tees. All proceeds will go directly to taking care of the shelter’s animals. When registering to play online, participants can also purchase raffle tickets for prizes, 50/50 raffle tickets, and mulligans.

Raffle prizes include lots of golf-related experiences, like a foursome at Sedona Golf Resort and a twosome at Oak Creek Country Club, tickets to events at Verde Canyon Railroad and Blazin’ M Ranch, as well as local art. Gift card prizes will be awarded to those who get closest to the pin on certain holes, the team with the lowest score, and the longest drive for male and female. The grand prize is $25,000 for a hole-in-one shot.

There are multiple sponsorship opportunities available for purchase. For any sponsorship package, VVHS is offering the option of putting a flyer or item in the golfer gift bag that each participant will receive to further promote the sponsor’s business.

“It helps get their name out in the community,” says VVHS Board member Karin Burnett. “It’s really a win-win when we help a smaller business get their name out there and get established. We try to do a lot of things with the community.” VVHS will cross-promote sponsors on their social media, do website acknowledgements, and put signage on the course.

This day of golf will help animals like Chairy, a dog who was found tied at a trailhead, abandoned and underweight. Shortly after her arrival at the shelter, Chairy injured her hind leg and required surgery. VVHS started a fundraiser and reached out to the community to cover Chairy’s medical expenses. After being placed into foster care to recover, VVHS is happy to share that Chairy was recently adopted. But the shelter has many more animals to help.

“Our golf outing is a great way to bring businesses, community members, our sponsors, and animal lovers together for a fun event that raises money for the animals in our care,” Burnett says. “It’s a good way to create relationships and meet other people who are doing this because they love animals.”

Know that you’re not just signing up for a game of golf, you’re giving a chance at life. Sign up to reserve your spot today at verdevalleyhumane.org/golf-outing.

This year’s Golf Outing is proudly sponsored by Oxendale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Cottonwood.

Sedona Golf Resort is located at 35 Ridge Trail Dr, Sedona, AZ 86351.
