logo_sedonabluegrassfestivalSedona AZ (April 17, 2013) – The seventh annual Sedona Bluegrass Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9 presented by Chamber Music Sedona. This year’s festival concerts have expanded to a two-day event and “many volunteer opportunities are available”, said CMS’s Volunteer Coordinator Marisol Molina. “We begin both days with performances at noon and finish Saturday and Sunday by 6.30pm under the trees on the banks of Oak Creek at Los Abrigados Creekside.”

This year’s line-up includes The David Grisman FolkJazz Trio as the headliner, complemented by the Matt Flinner Trio, Burnett Family Bluegrass, Muskellunge Bluegrass, from Phoenix Pick n Holler, and from Tucson Peter McLaughlin’s Sonoran Dogs, and the Titan Valley Warheads.

Volunteer assignments range from parking assistants, crowd control, security, ushering, to ticket sales and more. “There are plenty of assignments for those Volunteers who want to participate in this year’s operations,” said Molina. “We expect to entertain audiences to capacity this year and those that sign up first will have priority.”

Shifts are available for Saturday and Sunday ranging in duration from one and a half to two hours. Volunteer shifts begin at 10am Saturday and Sunday and will conclude by 7.30pm both days. “This is a good opportunity for friends to work together and enjoy some wonderful live performances courtesy of seven terrific bands,” said Festival Director Bert Harclerode. “Volunteers are the essential engine behind all of Sedona’s not-for-profit organizations, especially Chamber Music Sedona, and we’re pleased to invite the community to participate. Once the season comes to a close – we’ll invite all our volunteers to join us for an end-of-season celebration, as we prepare for the 2013-2014 season.”

To volunteer for the Festival interested parties may contact Marisol Molina at Chamber Music Sedona by calling 928.204.2415 or email her at mamolina@chambermusicsedona.org.
