The collateral damage of the unprecedented success of NVIDIA is human intelligence.
At this point, it does not matter if NVIDIA is Enron, Lehman Brothers, Cisco or if AI is in a bubble, if the bubble is about to crash or if an investor that called the 2008 financial crisis is sounding alarms in a distraction from the real catastrophe: human intelligence has been demonstrated to be replaceable by artificial intelligence, via the immense processing power underlined by NVIDIA.
There has never been any stock market loss, bankruptcy, big corporation scheming that had ever been at the expense of the possibility for humanity to bounce back. The event could be bad for a number of people, and the wider economy, but it never came with the competitiveness of non-humans, in permanence against what is possible. Now AI is unleashed. Most of valuable human work is vulnerable such that AI can make contributions or takeover several aspects. The AI that NVIDIA has powered is not coming for some market value, but for every work — and then for many people, the significance of existence.
Already, economic labor value has placed some roles higher than others, even though human intelligence is necessary for everything. For example, if an individual were to run a vending machine, it can be considered a low skill role, even if the individual is able to make great sales. It can be a pedestal for something better but being a vending machine attendant would not suddenly be paid so much — at least for now.
[Anthropic, on 60 Minutes <November 16, 2025> demonstrated the weakness of AI if it were to run a vending machine. While this puts AI in a real-world situation, this isn’t the risk of AI for human intelligence.]
The most important effort anyone on earth can be doing presently is to be looking at what, among the capacity of valuable human intelligence can be salvaged. Anthropic [on November 24, 2025] released Claude Opus 4.5, with hotter benchmarks and evaluations in coding and office work. Google, about a week before [on November 18, 2025] released Gemini 3, also with new highs.
Artificial intelligence is showing progress that should expose what humanity has already lost. What can be done about human intelligence, to change directions towards pivoting in some key areas, while awaiting AI’s catchup?
Neuroscience does not have any answer for human intelligence, the definition, the components, the mechanisms in the brain and how to improve it for problem-solving. There is currently no human intelligence research lab in this world. Even the so-called highly-ranked research universities do not have it. Science press, with all their nominal reputation do not discuss how to make progress with it. Even if the tech companies have moved on from human intelligence, should everyone else, including the World Health Organization [W.H.O], that by now, should have voluntarily disbanded.
Human Intelligence
What is human intelligence? Human intelligence can be described as the use of human memory for expected, desired or advantageous outcomes. Simply, intelligence is how memory is used. If there is something, say steel, a folder, a file, pen or whatever else, and someone knows what to do with it, towards an expected, desired or advantageous outcome, that is intelligence. The opposite is this, assuming a person is given something and there is a goal and the person cannot do much with it, then there is no intelligence for that. Memory is at stations. Intelligence is the relay across stations to use it for outcomes.
There are two types of intelligence, conceptually, operational intelligence and improvement intelligence. Operational intelligence to run processes as they are and improvement intelligence to make things better.
Both of them have mild and complex categories. For example, a complex operational intelligence is like space science, neurosurgery, national macroeconomics, and so forth, even if they sometimes reach into mild improvement intelligence. Most low skilled work are basic operational intelligence. Where value is, the most, is complex improvement intelligence.
The world is unequal in a sense of division between those who are focused and leading at improvement intelligence and those who are not. Improvement intelligence is where advancement is. Improvement intelligence is what wins. Improvement intelligence is powerful and it is what makes determinations. It paves the way and operational intelligence follows.
While a lot of intelligence is categorized with complex operational intelligence, improvement intelligence is rare and rarer as it goes up. It is the progress that improvement intelligence brings that the rest of the world lives by and adapts to.
Artificial intelligence already has complex operational intelligence for a lot of work categories. It has mild improvement intelligence for some tasks. It is missing for now at mild operational intelligence [running vending machines] and complex improvement intelligence [curing diseases]. But it is on its way, at least, because it is accelerating.
Humanity does not yet get the magnitude of the temblors that intelligence loss would cause. Complex operational intelligence sometimes serves to result in complex improvement intelligence by making lots of attempts at problems. Now, because this is getting eroded, with lower labor value, some future progress, in some fields, may stall.
It is important to note that low intelligence is not doable. Low intelligence is a hazard. Low intelligence is low visibility. Nature can take advantage of a low intelligence situation. Something with more intelligence, in an instance, can exploit a low intelligence state. It is what carries intelligence that bears the direction to go. AI can tell people what to do on many tasks. It is the lead, in that case.
Human intelligence is facing an urgent crisis. AI bubble or not, human intelligence is quietly washing out. It is losing to AI. It is eroding some of the need for human intelligence to develop complex operational intelligence in order to work at complex improvement intelligence, for useful progress. Intelligence runs the world. Humans just possessed it, hence were able to lead. Now, that lead is fractured. It all seem normal, but it isn’t. It all seem intact. But it isn’t. Intelligence is something to make do with, in purposes regardless of source, now AI is a source for intelligence, for school, work and companionship.
NVIDIA is pressing on with AI. No one is progressing with human intelligence — which already capsized. And maybe the AI capital market would not crash and maybe human intelligence fails faster and absolutely, if nothing is done, to at least try, from December 1, 2025 or early-2026.
There is a new [November 25, 2025] report on CNBC, Nvidia name-checks Michael Burry in secret memo pushing back on AI bubble allegations, stating that, “The Nvidia seven-page response to “questions and claims we’ve received,” began by citing “Michael Burry on Twitter / X” as its first collection of source documents the company sought to refute.”
“For his part, Burry answered in a post on Substack that, “Nvidia emailed a memo to Wall Street sell side analysts to push back on my arguments on [stock-based compensation] and Depreciation … I stand by my analysis. I am not claiming Nvidia is Enron. It is clearly Cisco.””
