logo_cwag3Verde Valley AZ (March 26, 2013) – Gary Beverly, filmmaker and conservation activist, will show his film, “Viva la Verde!” and provide an update on Verde River issues when he speaks to the Citizens Water Advocacy Group on Sat., Apr. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Granite Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 882 Sunset in Prescott (two blocks behind True Value).

“Viva la Verde!” unveils the value of and threats to the upper Verde River, a little-known and under-appreciated river supporting some of the best surviving riparian habitat in the Southwest. The 48-minute video, co-produced with Hugh Denno, tells the story of the river through interviews with local river activists, using photography and video footage collected over three years of exploring the river. The film was Prescott College student Hugh Denno’s senior project.
