Prescott News – On Friday, April 25th, Prescott’s beloved 4th Friday Art Walk invites art lovers to explore 16 downtown galleries, each featuring a diverse collection of work from both local and nationally recognized artists. These galleries will stay open late, offering special exhibits, artist receptions, and engaging events.
Nestled in the cool, forested mountains of Arizona, Prescott has long been a source of inspiration for artists. The Art Walk is an opportunity to connect with these creators, learn about their artistic journeys, and experience Prescott’s thriving creative community. With historic buildings framing the event, visitors can enjoy a rich blend of art and history in the heart of downtown.
Since its inception in 2004, the 4th Friday Art Walk has become a cherished tradition for Prescott’s visual arts scene. The event begins at 5 p.m. each month, with participating galleries welcoming guests to explore and engage with the artwork. Gallery guides are available at participating locations, hotel brochure stands, and the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.
The two featured galleries for the February Art Walk are ‘Tis Art Center & Gallery and Gallery Beyond Words.
At ‘Tis Art Center and Gallery at 105 S. Cortez Street, visitors will head upstairs to view the Mezzanine show “A STEP Above,” featuring work from the ‘Tis Annex STEPS Program Teachers. This unique showcase will show the various styles from our ‘Tis Annex instructors, including acrylic, mixed media, weaving, jewelry, beading, poetry, and more. Featuring Melanie Bernal, Jessica Leary, Mary Clare McCartin, Jenny Rose Harlow, and Nicole Nealy.
‘Tis Art Center & Gallery will open for Art Walk from 5:00-7:00 pm.
At Gallery Beyond Words, located at 204 N. McCormick Street, visitors can experience the “Wild Things” exhibit, a walk through the imaginative world of Annie Alexander’s Transdimensional Sculpture. Join the many who proclaim: “It’s beautiful! I’ve never seen anything like it!”
Gallery Beyond Words will open for Art Walk from 5:00-7:00 pm.
