Sedona News – The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is returning to Sedona. For the 11th year, the Sedona International Film Festival is bringing the spirit of outdoor adventure and mountain culture to red rock country.
This year’s screenings feature the world’s best mountain sport, culture and environmental films, letting you experience the thrill and challenges of the mountain environments that inspire us all.
The Sedona tour stop is two nights again this year: Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at the Sedona Performing Arts Center. Each night will feature a different program of films. Audience members can attend either one of the nights or get a package discount to attend both evenings.
Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival is one of the largest and most prestigious mountain festivals in the world! Hot on the heels of the festival that is held every fall in beautiful Banff, Alberta, the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour hits the road. With stops planned in more than 600 communities and more than 40 countries across the globe, the Banff World Tour celebrates amazing achievements in outdoor storytelling and filmmaking worldwide!
From the over 400 entries submitted into the festival each year, award-winners and audience favorites are among the films that are carefully selected to play in theatres around the world.
Traveling to remote vistas, analyzing topical environmental issues, and bringing audiences up-close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports the 2025 World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world.
Featured films on Tuesday, March 11 include:
• Anytime – Switzerland: Set in the Lenzerheide Bike Park, this segment will highlight the fact that good times are at the core of it all. Leave your preconceptions behind and join the revolution as these women prove they’re not just riding — they’re reigning!
• Undammed: After witnessing a massive fish kill on her ancestral home waters, Yurok tribal attorney Amy Bowers Cordalis dedicated her life to reversing the generations-long destruction wrought by the Klamath River dams. The film follows her journey to free the Klamath, from testifying before Congress to passing down the fishing traditions within her young family.
• Wild Days: Four friends from Savoie have a crazy idea: 50 days of self-sufficiency in Alaska’s Denali massif. The film takes us overland on a grueling journey to a place where time drifts, spirits wander off and where friendships are created and then tested by commitment.
• Soul Flyers: Fred Fugen, Vincent Cotte and Aurélien Chatard perform the longest terrain-flying wingsuit line in history, traveling an incredible 7.5km over the stunning landscape of Mont Blanc. The trio jump in formation from a helicopter just above the summit, passing mountaineers, glaciers, ice cracks and cliffs as they sped their way to a world record in just 3:05.
• 109 Below: A tale of resilience and grit when elite rescue volunteers go out of their way to save the lives of strangers.
• The Bird in My Backyard: Follow Eric Pittman, a window salesman turned hummingbird expert, as he documents the secret lives of the hummingbirds that nest in his urban backyard.
• River Mamma: The film follows Elisha McArthur, a lifelong raft guide and single mom and her relationship with her teenage goth daughter, Charlotte, who has no interest in rivers at all.
• Welcome to the Pit: In 2011, Steve Matthews had a bright idea. With his kids completely hooked on snowboarding, he rallied a few friends and set out to build Yellowknife’s first and only rope tow.

• The Streif: Fabio Wibmer is back on snow. This time crashing the preparations for the most legendary ski race in the world — the Streif.

• Of A Lifetime: A celebration of discovery, adventure, and the passing of the torch to the next generation against the breathtaking backdrop of Antarctica. It chronicles the renowned De Le Rue family’s journey as Xavier, Victor, and 18-year-old Mila sail across the Drake Passage to ride the unimaginably steep icy lines of the white continent.
• 2 Legs is 2 Easy: Steve Karczewski was born with bone cancer in his left leg and has never known what it is like to have two legs, but that hasn’t prevented him from doing anything and everything he’s ever wanted as an outdoor athlete.
• A Team Sport: Ultra-runner Courtney Dauwalter is one of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport. Continuing to shatter records, in 2023 she became the first person ever to wear the Triple Crown of ultra-running, winning three iconic 100+mile races back-to-back in one summer. Tickets for each individual night are $20 general admission; $17 for film festival members and students. A two-night package discount is offered to attend both evenings: $35 general admission and $29 for film festival members.
