Synopsis
Nehoiden High School hockey stars Will Mankus (Charlie Gillespie) and Danny Campbell (Sterling Beaumon) dream of college scholarships as they approach their critical senior year. Suddenly, their bright future is cast into darkness when Danny dies by suicide after years of simmering inner turmoil. Nobody is hit harder by Danny’s death than Will.
Feeling his dreams slipping away amidst the loss of his best friend, Will isolates himself from his father (Matt Letscher), family and friends, struggling to find purpose and connection in his life, drawing the concern of his childhood crush Kayla Donahue (Kyla Kenedy) and his hockey teammates. As he confronts his grief and forms a bond with the team’s reluctant new coach Dave Dunn (Jack Falahee), Will and the Nehoiden Black Bears become a symbol of resilience and a rallying cry for their town. Together, they find hope in unexpected places to heal their tight-knit New England community and reignite their passion for the sport they fell in love with.
