logo_sedonapubliclibrarySedona AZ (March 12, 2013) – Sedona Public Library is one of approximately 800 nonprofit organizations participating in Arizona Gives Day, an online fundraising initiative, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 20. Arizona Gives Day is a 24-hour online fundraiser aimed at bringing together communities across the state, to raise awareness and financial support for a variety of nonprofit organizations throughout Arizona. Arizonans are encouraged to help make a difference by investing in the nonprofit of their choice.

If you care about library services in the Sedona area, then please show us your support on March 20. By donating to Sedona Public Library on Arizona Gives Day, you help sustain this amazing organization, which offers services to 12,000 library cardholders in Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek, as well as visitors to our community.

On Arizona Gives Day, every donation and donor we get will make a real difference, right here in our community. Help spread the excitement. Tell your friends and family why you think they should help us with their donation.

Starting at midnight on March 20 and continuing until 11:59 p.m., supporters of the Library can go on to www.AZgives.org and show their support by selecting Sedona Public Library to receive their charitable contribution. All online donations during this effort will go directly to support the Library.

By supporting the Library, you also offer support to many of the smaller nonprofits who don’t have their own facilities. We build community connections by providing free meeting space for all nonprofit organizations in Sedona. Over three dozen local nonprofits representing a very wide variety of community interests have used Library meeting spaces over the past year.

The mission of nonprofit organizations in Sedona is to serve the health, safety, welfare, and contentment of Sedona residents. Providing a place for these organizations to meet and pursue their missions means the Library helps facilitate the collective public purpose of all the nonprofit organizations that meet here.

Sedona Public Library’s Board of Trustees and staff are proud of the contributions our library has made to Sedona and the surrounding communities, since its founding in 1958. As our vision states, the Library is a special place where the past is honored and future dreams are nourished.

You rely on our extensive and free collection of books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, and online resources, and on our computers, Wi-Fi service, and programs. Can we rely on you to lend your support on March 20? Donate online at azgives.razoo.com/story/Sedona-Public-Library. It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
