… things do happen, and the image above is something I can imagine happening up on the Colorado Plateau … maybe a few hundred thousand years ago or perhaps a few years from now. The beauty and isolation that you experience while flying over the plateau is hard to describe, but it does bring you to an understanding of the continuing transformation of earth … something that we have no control over and are merely along for the ride … trying to understand and make sense out of that which is incomprehensible. Fun trying though!

The image is of course a composite combining an aerial shot overlooking the plateau from just east of Roden Crater and looking westerly and a Hubble image worked into it. …. the river on the right side is the Little Colorado River flowing northwest about another 70 miles to its confluence with the Colorado River.

Below is a squirrel bounding across the tee box behind our home … he lives without worries of the origins, development and final disposition of the little planet we call home.

I am the dawn, the whisper of winds, the perfume
    of morning.
The passing night fondled me, hovering close to me,
    softly, silently.
The breaking day builds the spirit temple of my joy.
    I abandon myself!
It seems to me that never before have I walked with
the spirit as now, nor overcome space, time, and the
elements as I overcome them now.

It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
