… relax … good advice anytime and above you can see three American White Pelicans resting and resting in the early morning hours at Lake Pleasant. These are among the very largest birds in North American with wingspans up to nine feet! They are also one of the most beautiful soaring creatures and can soar at altitudes above 12,000′. They are majestic creatures and a treat to simply watch them do their thing.

… below is a photo which is a reminder that a person was here who had obviously taken the time to relax … maybe fishing was a little stressful or perhaps? I like that photo a lot because I first thought it was a bird perched on a branch … from a distance!

… I find it hard to relax when I have unfinished projects so today, I focused on my most annoying project and that would be my website. For the past umpteen years, I have used Adobe Muse to build my websites, but Adobe terminated the program in 2018 and a few years later all support. The program will not work on my new computer and my webhosting company deleted the site I had uploaded when I bought a new hosting package … this meant learning a new website program … so today I spent my day learning how to use the new one and have completed a great deal of it. All the portfolios are up so check it out. https://tedgrussing.com.

Tickets are selling for the February 7th 4:00PM show American Kestrel in Love at the Mary Fisher Theater. This is to fund raise for International Raptor and Falconry Center. We will have at least four falcons and hawks and you will be able to interact with them … hope you will make it!

Into another day … unknown and perhaps the best day ever … it is the only day we will find ourselves in … today!

    Smiles,

    Ted

Your first duty is to learn to live in the world, for
    to this you are born.

But meantime, make for yourself a secret room in the
inner house of consciousness, where you may rest from
the strain of the world, and disentangle yourself from
that which is unworthy of your soul.

Into this room let no unsympathetic person enter, for
he would laugh at you in the temple of your better self.

Yet, in a long time, perhaps some one who understands
will pass the door. And who shall say what your life
    may be from that hour!

    We Have Been Thoroughly Trained!
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

Throughout the years, we have been trained. Part of the training is to see others as trained, but not ourselves. Even though we are the others that others are trained to see as trained, we tend to miss that little nuance. The training says we must know what’s right and speak out when we see something that runs contrary to our understanding of rightness. We don’t stop to realize that what we see as right isn’t exactly right or it would be the right version that everyone in their right mind knew as right. There are billions of versions of right but ours is the only real right one. Seems fishy, doesn’t it? We spend our days, our lives, catching others — the wrong ones — doing and saying things in support of their versions of right and our training has us jumping on the critical bandwagon lest we be painted in support of the wrong right. What in this crazy world moves us with such amazing force to crave rightness, to need to be seen as right? Read more→
