… it is happening! Corky and I married in 1959, we moved back to Minneapolis early in 1960 and I began school all over again and also began buying tools … I have never seen a tool that I did not want and so it has gone … I have bought tools that I had no use for, but they looked neat or were on sale. It was over three years before I used a tap and die set, I bought because it was on sale, and I didn’t have one. In short, I have been collecting tools for sixty-three years and have a lot of them … I needed a complete set of tools when I had my hangar and of course I needed one for our motorhome, one for the car and of course the most extensive set at home. I accumulated tools but never got rid of a single one.

So what is happening? I am divesting myself of more than half of my tools, especially those meant for wood working including my stash of wood … I am not going to do woodworking anymore … there is a bright side though because as I divest myself of these tools, I am busy buying more tools for gold and silver smithing 🙂 Also if I have rid myself of a tool I really need there are plenty of easy to reach places to buy them. Hard to believe, but almost half of the tools are gone or will be gone by the end of the week.

I FEEL FREE … to buy more tools 🙂 I have more space now.

The shot above is of three cinnamon teal taking to flight … I did a similar shot a year or so ago and used a special effects app to get the initial effects and then modified that manually, Now I am creating the background by hand and entirely manually. I actually like this way of doing it better as I have complete control over what goes on.

The shot below is of five black crowned night herons coming in for a landing in a tree up Castle Hot Springs Bay … I took the shot early spring this year and it was mating season … there were four more birds coming in, but I cropped them out … a red wing black bird is just above the bottom of the photo, right of center.

I am the dawn, the whisper of winds, the perfume
    of morning.

The passing night fondled me, hovering close to me,
    softly, silently.

The breaking day builds the spirit temple of my joy.
    I abandon myself!

It seems to me that never before have I walked with
the spirit as now, nor overcome space, time, and the
elements as I overcome them now.

City to Discuss Sedona Spy Cams

    By Tim Perry

As a reminder, the Sedona City Council has tentatively scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 3 p.m., at which city staff will endeavor to “educate” residents on why it’s a good thing that the city is building tracking maps of their every movement and giving that data to a private corporation to be used to advance its “Minority Report” agenda.
