Sedona AZ — No matter how you cut the cake, toss the dice, deal the cards or slice that pizza, yesterday’s trouncing of Republicans in the elections, proves once again that men have no right telling women what they may or not do with their bodies.
Abortion rights will be the key issue both parties will have to deal with as we head into the 2024 election, and Republicans need to take heed and prepare for the worst because their hard line stance on abortion is their Waterloo.
Party affinations mean nothing to a woman that has to make a terrible decision on whether to abort or not abort. There are no party lines here. And to think that that decision is an easy one to make, is naïve.
Hard line anti-abortion candidates are doomed if they think they will get elected next time around.
How can you tell a woman who has been raped and impregnated or who faces death if they go to term, that they cannot abort?
Be prepared Republican men to be kicked in the crotch if you try to stop them.
And then there is the ultimate hypocrisy of the Party telling Democrats they have no right to force them to wear masks or take a Covid vaccine, while at the same time telling women they have no rights over their own bodies.
Watching the Republican pundits go into shock last night as the numbers came in, one could smell the fear.
Republican strategists know the Party screwed up messing with pro-abortion rights and they are scrambling to find an acceptable middle ground that can bring the Republican women they lost, back to the fold.
But can they?
Then there is the moral issue. Will Republicans candidates who are truly against abortions, who believe in the God-given right of the fetus to be born, change their stance just to get votes
Highly unlikely
Or will self-gratifying politicians who once worked to suppress women’s rights suddenly change their tune in order to get elected?
Quite likely.
Regardless, Republicans have quite a dilemma in their hands.
Will the Republican faithful who are driven by morality and convictions, that truly believe in their heart abortion goes against Scripture and God’s will, support or vote for Republican candidates that vacillate on their anti-abortion stance to get votes?
That’s a good question. Depends one would guess on the voter’s moral compass and commitment to un-born life.
But it’s a damned if you do and damned if you don’t conundrum.
Meanwhile, the Democrats will run full steam ahead with it, painting anti-abortion Republicans as insensitive and cruel misogynists; demanding the rights of women to determine what they wish to do with their bodies, be promulgated.
A lot could happen in one year on the pollical front and world events.
But one thing is for sure. The abortion rights fight will be center stage.

I used to be the local president of Right to Life and learned a lot from the experience. Banning abortion by the courts or the legislative process is not a workable situation.. The only way to save babies is to lead the mother to Jesus and let the Spirit help with her decision. Anti abortion is a loser at the ballot box and does not solve the issue. I consider myself pro-choice and pray that saving the baby is the choice. Expectant mothers do not need criticism nor do past women that had abortions. They need love and support. That is a choice that everyone can deliver.
