Sedona AZ (December 12, 2017) – The 19th annual Winter Gifting Project by Crossing Worlds Hopi Projects welcomes cash donations and gifts in support of Hopi Indian families. This Verde Valley non-profit, all-volunteer group provides support year round for Hopi families and Hopi service groups to help grow sustainability in their remote villages in northeastern Arizona. Hopis are the descendants of the ancestral peoples of northern Arizona and still maintain ceremonial connection to many sites in our region.
The key needs identified by director Sandra Cosentino are gifts for youth and elders and monetary donations for purchase of food and supplies. “Our focus for the youth is on art, learning, and sports supplies. We invite people in our community to make up toiletry (full size) and bath towel sets for the elders.” Food items such as nuts, dried fruit, canned tuna and corned beef are also welcome.
Crossing Worlds Hopi Projects will have:
- donation table in Sedona Dec. 16 and 23, 12 – 4 pm, at Jay’s Bird Barn in the Safeway Center.
- donation barrel at Great Southwest Gallery, Tlaquepaque A207, Patio de las Campanas, through December.
