Phoenix AZ (March 7, 2014) – The Arizona Community Foundation’s online scholarship portal is now accepting applications, making scholarship funding opportunities available to students across Arizona for the 2014-2015 school year.

As Arizona’s largest private provider of scholarship funding, ACF offers a system with access to more than 75 scholarship awards with a single online application. Completing one general application automatically matches applicants with every scholarship opportunity within the system for which they qualify.

High school seniors, current college students and graduate-level students attending schools anywhere in the United States can apply. Scholarships are available for two-year and four-year colleges and universities as well as vocational and technical schools.

March 28 is the application deadline for 30 of the scholarships awards. The remaining scholarships close on April 30 and May 31. Students are encouraged to apply early to ensure they are matched with all the awards for which they qualify.

Established in 1978, the Arizona Community Foundation is a statewide family of charitable funds supported by thousands of Arizonans. With four regional offices serving communities across Arizona, ACF is among the top 25 community foundations in the nation with more than $640 million in trust and endowment assets, and is confirmed in compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations. Last year, ACF and its affiliates awarded more than $40 million in grants and scholarship funding to some 2,500 nonprofit organizations, schools and government agencies. Yes, That Was Biden at the
    State of the Union Address

    By Tommy Acosta
It was about three minutes into President Biden’s speech in his State of the Union address when I found myself searching for clues as to the speaker’s real identity. “It just couldn’t be him,” I thought. An imposter had taken his place and was getting away with it!” Where was the stumbling, fumbling, bumbling President America has grown to love? What the heck was going on? His demeaner was confident. He was lucid. He did not lose himself somewhere in his mind between sentences. He hardly referred to his notes and went on delivering his message in an almost totally coherent way. He even went off script when Republican hecklers using their doth-the-lady-protest too-loud defense against him, protesting loudly after being accused by Biden that they were out to wipeout Medicare and Social Security.
